Dr. Wenchao Zheng is the founding veterinarian, and owner of Animal Hospital of Manitoba. Dr. Zheng graduated from veterinary college in South China in 1983. Dr. Zheng continued his education, pursuing his Masters Degree in Veterinary Surgery, Zheng practiced in a veterinary teaching hospital from 1986 to 1989. His areas of research were, laser surgery and medicine, laser analgesia and mechanisms, micro vascular surgery and organ transplantation, and long bone fracture repair. Dr. Zheng immigrated to Canada in 1989, he then completed two years of continuing education at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. In 1996 he opened the doors of Animal Hospital of Mantiba, and the rest is history! Dr. Zheng clearly enjoys surgery, his special interests are laser surgery, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, endoscopy and ear care. Dr. Zheng is of course a pet owner, his dog ‘Sam’ is a German Shepard cross, a rescue from a shelter, ‘Sam’ regularly attends work with Dr. Zheng! Dr. Zheng is married and the proud father of two teenage daughters. Dr. Zheng is an accomplished bridge player, he especially enjoys fishing, boating and travelling, when he is afforded the time! Dr. Zheng is comitted to providing the most current and appropriate veterinary care to his valued patients.
